Boat Hire

Before booking, please check:

After booking – you can pay:

  • Using the PayPal link on this page to pay by card – you don’t need to have a PayPal account. Select the type of boat, add the date of hire and your name.
  • Or online to Deben Yacht Club’s  current account with date of hire and your surname as reference. Please contact the Treasurer for account details.
  • Or at the galley by cash or cheque; don’t forget to fill in the galley’s record sheet and get it initialled by one of the galley team.
  • Or send cheque payable to Deben Yacht Club to the DYC Treasurer,  Oak Mount, Martlesham Road, Little Bealings IP13 6LX with date of hire and your surname on the back.

Where are all the boats and bits?

Wayfarers are usually on moorings; get a lift from a safety boat.  Other dinghies are in the dinghy park near the railway.

Toppers – Booms and foils are in the boats.  Sails are in wrapped round masts in the mast rack.  Racing Sails are in the right hand compartment of Shed 4 wrapped round pipes.

Qubas – Spars and foils are in the boats.  Sails are in yellow sail bags wrapped round pipes in the right hand compartment of Shed 4.

Fevas – Spars and foils are in the boats.  Sails are in blue sail bags wrapped round pipes in the right hand compartment of Shed 4.

Wayfarers – Spars and rudders are in the boats.  Small, training sails are in the boats in red sail bags.  Larger sails are in the centre compartment of Shed 4.  After summer sail training we may move some Wayfarers back to the Dinghy Park.

After Sailing – please put everything back where it ought to be.  If there’s a problem tell us using the notice on the Club Boats noticeboard.
